Mike Gorodinsky has reported that a large sum of money has gone missing from his security box at the Bellagio Casino. The high stakes tournament player went to access the box last week and found the key did not work. After drilling the lock open, Gorodinsky discovered that the box was empty.
Went to Bellagio today to access my box and my key was stuck/not opening it. They wind up having to drill it and when they lift the box out, it’s empty. Extremely fucked up situation. If anyone has any insight on best steps/who to contact from here, please reach out.

Todd Witteles replied to Gorodinsky’s tweet to let him know that many times in the past he has been handed the wrong box. With the key not working, this does make sense.
Jeremy Ausmus told how a friend of his was once handed somebody else’s box containing five times the amount of money that should have been there.
Two Plus Two co-founder Mason Malmuth relayed a similar story that happened at Caesars some years ago. He said that his box was placed in the wrong slot.

Many years ago at Caesars this happened to me. It was solved by determining that my box had been put in the wrong slot and another box had been put in mine. The reason it was solved was that on the side of my box there was a slot number which did not match my box number.

As of today, there is still no word on if the situation has been remedied. Gorodinsky is no doubt busy with his World Series of Poker schedule but he is yet to post an update. He did, however, thank everyone who reached out to help.
