Michelle Nizardelli headbutts Gattas Kortas at EPT Prague!

EPT Prague Main Event erupted in violence last night as two players clashed both on and off the felt – a flopped top pair ending Gattas Kortas’ hopes and a headbutt ending Michelle Nizardelli’s participation

There had already been some tension on table 12 at King’s Casino Prague as day 1b of what would prove to be a record-breaking EPT Prague Main Event drew to a close.

First up, a hand between Michelle Nizardelli and Cesar Garcia ended bizarrely when play went check-check on the river, only for Nizardelli to then overbet the pot.

Not surprisingly, Garcia was angry at this blatant angleshoot attempt, the rest of the table agreeing that the Italian was out of order. But the next hand was even more dramatic.

Sweden’s Ghattas Kortas was all-in and at risk, calling with pocket 10s after Italian Michelle Nizardelli 3-bet with big slick, but the runout wasn’t what the Swede had hoped for…

Disgusted, and apparently annoyed at the previous controversial hand, Ghattas Kortas knocked Michelle Nizardelli’s hat from his head as headed to the rail, calling him a “cheater” as he did so.

The incensed Italian responded by shoving his foe in the back and when the pair squared up, Michelle Nizardelli landed a headbutt to the nose that floored his opponent.

With the Swedish player more stunned than hurt, he asked fellow players if his face was ok, and then security arrived to escort Michelle Nizardelli from the floor – his stack removed from play with a DQ the result of his egregious display of violence.

There is no word as yet whether Nizardelli will face any further action from police or the casino or tournament organisers.
