The 34-year old Dutchman was rushed to hospital, but thankfully the scare wasn’t as bad as first feared.
I’m sorry guys I have to cancel my meet and greet today. Im fine, don’t worry, but I collapsed on the street yesterday.
At the clinic they checked my vitals and said my heart showed irregularities most likely related to stress and fatigue.
I’m fine now! But need to go home.<3 pic.twitter.com/SzxAbrErCf

Lex Veldhuis told by doctors to take things a bit easier, and thanking everyone for their caring messages once he was released…
It feels so good to be home. Thanks everyone for all the well wishes. Had an overwhelming amount of messages <3

Having 125,000 followers on Twitch desperate for his content won’t make ‘taking things easy’ a simple task.
Lex and his mix of excellent play, advice and humour during his livestreams making him someone that even the biggest names in the game follow on a regular basis.
Famous friends…
His health scare drew some good-natured rib-poking from the legendary Doyle Brunson, for example…
you are just getting old buddy. This will hurt your borrowing power, so you have a real problem. I’ll stake you in the $1.00-$2.00 PLO so perhaps you can keep food on the table. Seriously, get better! https://t.co/4xSSf0scru

…and fellow PokerStars bigshot Daniel Negreanu is counted among his friends, this lovely ‘fan pic’ posted almost a year ago to the day …
Had the pleasure of taking @RaSZi to his first hockey game and we crushed. Check him out on https://t.co/O1isHn95EG pic.twitter.com/qzrLOAWqQi

…and fellow fallers…
Lex Veldhuis was actually in very good company when it came to unexpected hospital visits.
Arlie Shaban coming a cropper during stage 7 of his PokerStars challenge to recreate the ‘labors of Hercules’, Veldhuis among the first to pounce on the spectacular crash…
Omfg this is good. Poor Arlie haha https://t.co/aAdyLNvg51

Although one of the biggest names in the poker streaming world, not everyone in the poker world will know who Lex Lex ‘RaSZi’ Veldhuis is, of course, so here’s a little background…
From games…to games
It’s not unusual for video gamers to fall in love with poker, and that’s how Veldhuis started too – the first ever ‘dual sponsored poker/gaming pro, Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier, the man responsible for bringing ‘RaSZi’ to the card world.
…and a virtual life…
Online poker, naturally, was his first – and still his main – focus, Lex eventually making PLO his game of choice, although it would be a while before he found his niche in the TwitchTV streaming market.
Add in just shy of 50,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel and it’s clear that he’s offering something very attractive, and happy to discuss most anything related to his loves and passions…
…requires balance…
It’s never easy – as any online poker player will tell you – to balance the daily grind with a healthy lifestyle, and if you throw in the stress of producing great content on a regular basis that probably doubles.
Neverthless, Lex Veldhuis has a long-held love of tennis to fall back on as a way to keep things on an even-keel – and hopefully this week can be seen as a wake-up call for the rest of us in the poker community to follow suit!
