We analyse a sick All-In bluff by Vladi Chaoulov vs. online cash game legend Trueteller in a $191,900 Pot in the $500/$1,000 Texas Hold’em Cash Game at Super High Roller Bowl Europe.
Poker Hand of the Week Setup
Poker legends Timofey “Trueteller” Kuznetsov, Dan “Jungleman” Cates, Wiktor “limitless” Malinowski, Mikita Badziakouski , Sergio Aido and Vladi Chaoulov sat down during the 2021 Super High Roller Bowl Europe to play a $500/$1,000 high stakes cash game!
They are playing 5-max $500/$1,000 No-Limit Hold’em and Vladi Chaoulov has Trueteller covered at the start of our Poker Hand of the Week.
Poker Hand of the Week Action
Preflop:
Jungleman raises from UTG with QJ late position with Q♦J♥ to $3,000. Trueteller 3-bets from UTG+1 with 8♠7♥ to 12K, Vladi Chaoulov calls with Q♠10♠ and Jungleman folds. Pot Size: $35,000
Flop:
Heads-up to the very dry flop of 2♣5♣2♦. Chaoulov checks to the preflop aggressor, who makes a small continuation bet of $9,000 into $35,000 (26% pot) with the intention to win the hand right here.
Vladi Chaoulov does however float the flop with absolute air. Pot Size: $53,000
Turn:
The 4♦ on the turn doesn’t change much except for the fact that it makes Pocket Fours a full house and A3s a wheel. Vladi checks again and now Trueteller sizes up by firing a $30,000 second barrel having picked up a gutshot to the nut straight.
One would think that Chaoulov has an easy fold here, but he has other plans and after counting his chips he pulls the trigger and announces All-In for $108,000!
Trueteller is waiting for around 20 seconds to save some face, before sliding his cards into the muck, while Vladi Chaoulov collects a massive $191,900 Pot with just Queen-high!
Poker Hand of the Week Analysis
Let’s analyse this sick bluff interesting hand step by step. Trueteller tries to make a play and attack Jungleman’s UTG raise. Chaoulov can both call a 3-bet with Q10s, since he is in position, or fold. He goes for the first option.
The flop is very dry and as Trueteller has whiffed he must cbet here. His sizing might be too small with 26% pot as Vladi surprisingly decides to float with complete air and no backdoor draws.
The turn doesn’t change much except for Trueteller picking up some equity with a gutshot. Kutnetsov correctly sizes up, after being checked to again, and it looks at this point very much like the hand is over.
Well, think again as Vladi Chaoulov check-raises All-In for $191,900! Trueteller can do nothing else but fold, but to save some face he is hollywooding a bit before folding.
Poker Hand of the Week Conclusion
This hand is a perfect example, why you should trust your reads and why being able to pull the trigger in such a spot distinguishes great from average players.
Who is familiar with Trueteller’s online game knows that he is pretty aggressive and 3-bets a lot and I’m pretty sure Chaoulov is aware of that.
He probably puts Trueteller on a hand like AK or AQ and makes the plan to float the flop in order to take the pot away from Trueteller on a later street.
Chaoulov is convinced that Kuznetsov doesn’t have it and pulls the trigger on the turn with an amazing check-raise All-In for $108,000 with only Queen-high!
An excellent read and great execution by Vladi Chaoulov, who completely owns one of the best cash game players in the world in this hand.
