Dan Bilzerian has insulted the poker community, saying that “most poker players are fucking nerds.” The Instagram playboy appeared on the No Jumper podcast and lashed out at his former peers after losing his GGPoker ambassadorship role.
Dan Bilzerian has never been one to mince his words in public. He has never shied away from giving his opinion and also not from insulting those who upset him in some way.
After leaving his role as a brand ambassador for GGPoker, Bilzerian has had a lot to say, much of which indicates he is happy to be away from the game for now unless there is some easy money to be made.
“My goal with poker was always to play with people that were playing for fun. I wanted to play with the rich guy that was playing for fun, not the guy that was trying to be a f*****g killer. I wanted to play against these rich guys that were going there to f*****g, like, blow off some steam, f**k with their friends, show a big bluff, f**k some massage girls, whatever, get out of the house from the wife.”
Midway through the interview, Dan Bilzerian directed his wrath at the typical poker player, obviously feeling he is superior.
“Most poker players are fucking nerds”
“Most poker players are f*****g nerds. I don’t really hangout with that many of them, I don’t really want to associate with them. I shut most of them out of my f*****g games. I never really let pros in.”
It wasn’t all players though, because he says he considers Dan “Jungleman” Cates, Antonio Esfandiari, Phil Ivey, and his former coach Andrew Robl as friends.
Dan Bilzerian Out at GGPoker
Dan Bilzerian’s signing at GGPoker was probably the most controversial deal ever seen for a brand ambassador role.
His alleged sexist behaviour and misogyny led to an outcry by female members of the poker community who thought Bilzerian’s character unsuitable.
Vanessa Kade was one such critic who tweeted her opinion and Bilzerian proved her point in only minutes.
Quiet hoe, nobody knows who you are
— Dan Bilzerian (@DanBilzerian) December 4, 2020
Dan Bilzerian explains why he left GGPoker, giving his version of events.
“I get offered so much money to do f*****g promos. I just don’t have the heart to do it. Initially, I tried to do it, you know what I mean, I did some posts and drove them a f******d of traffic. But then they were supposed to give me a percentage of the people that I recruited, and you know, we had like 100,000 that we downloaded, there’s like a lot of people. So, the numbers they were saying they were going to pay me was millions a month.”
He added that he was never paid the revenue that was indicated when he took on the role.
“So, we just agreed to kind of like end it, you know,”
Doug Polk Accused of Stirring Trouble
We all know that Dan Bilzerian and Doug Polk don’t get on like a house on fire but it’s clear that the playboy still harbours a grudge over the many criticisms Polk has made over the years.
Bilzerian couldn’t bring himself to end the interview without firing some shots.
“He’s the stereotypical clickbait guy. He doesn’t care about reporting the news, was willing to convolute the truth to fit his narrative to get him the story that he wanted. And then he’d basically hide under the guise of ‘oh, I’m just a journalist.’ But it’s like, no if you’re a journalist taking that approach, you’ve got some ethical issues there.”
Whether he’s missed from the poker community or not, one thing is for sure: Dan Bilzerian is never boring and always a part of some ongoing story.
