Incredibly, Doug Polk was more than happy to accept the impetuous challenge and offered stakes of $1,000/$2,000 in a game hosted at his poker room The Lodge Card Club.
This leaves “The Mouth” in a predicament: those are serious stakes that can run out of control quickly in a heads-up game, but he will lose face if he declines the offer.

One poster wrote that there is no way that Matusow’s backer, thought to be Phil Hellmuth, will send him to The Lodge Card Club to take on Doug Polk.
But Matusow still seems keen. The only stipulation that might be a stumbling block is that he doesn’t want the challenge streamed online.
He claims that he doesn’t want Doug Polk breaking down his style of play for all to see later on.

Someone else pointed out that this is actually quite ridiculous given that he is proposing the launch of a training site where he will volunteer this information anyway.
Let’s all keep our fingers crossed for this to happen. Regardless of what the result turns out to be this will be a great piece of entertainment for the poker community.
