Without Online Events Chris Brewer Would Have Won 2023 WSOP Player of the Year!

It has been calculated that Chris Brewer would have won 2023 WSOP Player of the year without online events with the winner Ian Matakis being only in 10th place!

Surprisingly, as nobody had mentioned it, Shaun Deeb would have been shuffled down into 11th place.

The discussion started during congratulations for Ian Matakis who was a surprise winner this year.

Some big names, including runner-up Shaun Deeb, posted congratulations but then Mike Matusow popped up to put a dampener on the celebrations, saying online events are not worthy to count.

Deeb was quick to put The Mouth back in his place, after trying to take the shine off Matakis’s win.

Interestingly, Dutch Boyd pointed out that Mike Matusow’s four bracelet wins came from fields of 210, 85, 79, and 205, while Ian Matakis won his after topping 1,253 entries that included many big names in poker.

Matusow then fired at the WSOP for being greedy a couple of days later, saying online bracelets are not real ones.
