Garrett Adelstein Triple Barrels with 10-4 Off-Suit in $56,000 Pot
This week, we have quite a bluff for you. The hero in this hand is Garrett Adelstein.
Adelstein is considered by many to be one of the greatest live cash game players in the world. Joey Ingram and Mike Matusow have described him as such in the past. There’s also a popular thread on the 2+2 forum discussing his exceptional poker prowess.
This memorable hand he played took place in a $25/$50/$100 with a $50 BB ante NLHE cash game on Live at the Bike’s stream this week.
Garrett Adelstein decided to go for a 3-bet squeeze from the 3rd blind over a limp and a raise from LATB regular Andy. Adelstein is known to “get out of line” from time to time. This was definitely one of those hands in this poker video, as he put that 3-bet in holding 104 off-suit…
Andy called with KQ off-suit. The flop fell 46Q, two hearts. By that point, there was $3,200 in the pot to fight for. And fight for it Adelstein sure did, he c-bet to $1,500 after being checked to. Evidently, Andy called again.
The turn was the Jack of clubs, putting a backdoor flush draw on the board as well. Andy checked once again and Adelstein sized it up on turn, betting nearly pot with bottom pair. However, Andy flatted again.
The 7 of Hearts completed the flop flush draw on the river. This induced a third check from Andy. Garrett Adelstein pulled the trigger for the last time, putting his opponent all-in for the remaining $38,175 in his stack.
Andy was holding the Q of hearts blocking some flush hands in Adelstein’s polarized range. Having that Queen also meant that Adelstein was less like to have top set.
Despite all that, Andy, who’s a good winning reg on Live at the Bike as well, decided to lay his top pair down. Props to Garrett Adelstein for winning an over $50K pot 104 off-suit!
