The high-stakes cheating scandals over the last couple of months have led to calls for a poker blacklist from many high-profile names in the game.
The hope is that the fear of being banned from prestigious live series will prove enough of a deterrent for high-stakes players to refrain from unethical play given the potential for huge prizes in these festivals.

Good to See but Many Problems Ahead
While the cheaters blacklist is something people are happy to see, exactly how it will be implemented raises questions over its fairness.
For starters, currently there is no agreed upon standard for the list as partypoker is taking the lead.
Juha Pasanen, Head of Game Integrity at partypoker, said in a blog post:
I am aware a discussion about any kind of blacklist poses a number of questions, such as the criteria someone must meet to be included and if there is any scope for forgiveness.
What I will say on the matter at this time is that we at partypoker have a zero-tolerance policy towards players who are intentionally trying to gain an unfair advantage over others at our tables.
I would like to reiterate that anyone banned at partypoker or other Entain brands is not welcome at any partypoker LIVE event.
What about the Big Names in the Recent Scandals?
So, the question on everybody’s lips is what will happen to the big names embroiled in the recent cheating scandals?
Ali Imsirovic, Jake Schindler, and Bryn Kenney are the three characters of particular interest here but, as far as we know, none are banned from partypoker.
Does this mean they have got away scot-free for now?
For now, it looks like yes, but partypoker is one of the main players in the online poker space and GGPoker, PokerStars, and Triton will be watching closely.
Juha Pasanen added in his post that Members of Game Integrity will be available to discuss the big change at the festival in Barcelona. An open forum will be held for all concerned parties in the name of full transparency.
