Luke Schwartz rants on Twitter how bad Gus Hansen is in poker

Highstakes pro Luke ‘_fullflush1_’Schwartz took a scattergun to poker’s biggest names on Twitter yesterday, starting with digs at Matt Berkey and finishing with a possible heads-up match against Phil Galfond…

Heavy attacks on Twitter by Luke Schwartz

Bryn Kenney, Nick Schulman, Daniel Negreanu, Patrick Leonard, and Shaun Deeb were just some of the famous names in a flurry of often bizarre tweets from Schwartz.

Berkey2

Quite what inspired the Londoner to share his poker stream of consciousness on Twitter is unclear, although modern GTO and solver approaches to the game featured heavily.

All bar one of his posts were prefaced by ‘Solve for Why’, the name of the Matt Berkey-founded poker academy, as in this ode to the Great Dane Gus Hansen.

Matt Berkey – or Berkeley as Schwartz would have it – seemed to be the initial target, this pair of tweets having a pop at him, the misspellings all the Englishman’s:

  • ‘Solve for why Berkeley tweets like Shakespeare but has never won on a live stream’
  • ‘Solve for why pads came like 50cent and also buried Berkeley’s life on the 107 hand’

Timofey ‘Trueteller’ Kuznetsov was apparently the GOAT,  but so was Jungleman Dan Cates, Schwartz writing: ‘Solve for why Jungleman has been scammed for the untold millions yet is still one of the most caked players in the game # goat’.

Mike ‘Timex’ McDonald came in for some back-handed compliments as the Twitterfest continued throughout the evening…

Daniel Negreanu and his archrival Shaun Deeb were both mentioned:

  • Solve for why Shaun Deeb gives no fuks that he has no neck
  • Solve for why Negreanu is just the undisputed king of this poker shit #goat

…while fellow Englishman Patrick Leonard, the partypoker pro and bitB staking guru, received the following: ‘Solve for why @padsPokerSquad was born in the UK . But has such an unidentifiable accent. Solve also for why he is an undeniable solving beast’.

Phil Galfond keeps his cool

It was Phil Galfond that attracted the most attention and comment, however, with Luke Schwartz taking a swing at the much-publicized Galfond PLO Challenge, before offering Galfond a challenge of his own.

Galfond responded in his usual friendly manner, even including a pigeon emoji…

…but he may not feel quite so happy about Schwartz’s response, the mouthy Londoner throwing in a low-blow about the good old days on Full Tilt – the name obviously translating as Guy Laliberte…

Schwartz rarely shies away from controversy. A couple of years ago we reported on a spat he had with Doug Polk, the pair accusing each other of cheating.

Last year he had a public slanging match with fellow English pro Daniel ‘DanMerrrrrrr’ Merrilees. The pair discussed a £200k boxing match to settle their differences.

Last night saw Schwartz showing off his physique in another swipe at his opponent…

That seemed to be enough tweets for Schwartz for one session, and one wonders if he’ll wake up today wondering why his name is trending on poker Twitter.
