Idan The One has busted out of the World Series of Poker Main Event on Day 1A after a brutal pair of bad beats.

The Israeli player was playing his first ever Main Event and it couldn’t have gone more wrong for the hopeful who was seen being consoled outside the playing hall.

Brutal Coolers

The biggest poker tournament of the year kicked off with 1,080 entries that included some of the biggest names in the game. But just because this was the first Day 1 starting flight doesn’t mean that the bad beats and coolers can’t come thick and fast right from the get-go.

The action had only moved onto Level 2 and already Idan The One was smarting hard from losing a huge pot against Ruben Correia after running pocket kings into aces.

Idan The One then found himself looking down at pocket kings once again in a pot where Correia has just isolated two limpers for 1,500 chips in the cutoff.

The button calls and then Idan The One three-bets to force the limpers out. Correia four-bets to 16,000 and the button folds.

The action was now back around to Idan The One who must have been feeling quite confident that lightning can’t strike twice in the same place.

And so, after a short moment to catch his breath, Idan The One moved all his chips into the middle and waited for Correia to make his decision.

Unfortunately for Idan The One, Correia didn’t need to ponder his decision for even the slightest moment because lightning did indeed strike twice and the chips would all be going in.

The pocket aces are a 4:1 favourite in this pair over pair situation, meaning that the bigger hand wins 80% of the time.

And this is what happened. Idan The One slowly collecting his belongings together after a short time in what was the biggest poker event in his career. $10,000 down the drain in less than one hour.

Minutes later, he was photographed outside the playing hall being consoled by what was thought to be his girlfriend. Poker can be a cruel mistress sometimes!
