Bryn Kenney Calls Jungleman’s Request to Donate to His Charity an Ego Boost

Bryn Kenney Rants at Jungleman

Bryn Kenney and Dan “Jungleman” Cates have been bickering on Twitter over the latter’s posting for donations for his new charity foundation. Kenney accused Jungleman of only wanting to feed his ego.

Poker Twitter isn’t known for its relaxed demeanour but reading what Bryn Kenney had to say last night shows just how petty some players can be with each other.

Jungleman is clearly trying to do some good by setting up his foundation, and when he says they are close to the point of being able to build hospitals we see just how hard they have worked.

Does it really matter how much money he has personally put into the project? It’s a bit harsh to accuse Jungleman of only wanting to feed his ego.

Jungleman

“As for my charity foundation, you can see what we’ve done on our IG page: dancatesfoundation. I personally visited many places in Africa, have donated etc etc. Why are you knocking me actually trying to do something good again?”

And as for Bryn Kenney saying that nobody cares to play Jungleman heads-up, that is absolute garbage. If he put out a heads-up challenge to the world there would be no shortage of takers. The guy is a legend.

Is Bryn Kenney the Self-Declared Best Poker Player?

It sounds like Bryn Kenney is getting too big for his boots since he took over the top spot in the live tournament winner list. Jungleman points out that he probably is better than him at “exactly tournament poker”, but he can’t think of anything else.

Kenney makes himself look even more arrogant by declaring that he is no longer interested in playing events with buy-ins smaller than $250,000.

Bryn Kenney Calls Jungleman’s Request to Donate to His Charity an Ego Boost

“Umm, look buddy you won some highrollers and think that’s enough to put you in top winners or poker players… that’s pretty cute but don’t accuse me of ego boost Mr self-acclaimed best poker player.”

Bryn Kenney might have $56 million in live tournament winnings but $35 million of that comes from only a few cashes. Without the high rollers his record wouldn’t be nearly as impressive.

Can We Get the Pair to Play a Heads-Up Match?

We’ve been spoiled of late with the number of high-profile heads-up battles, but this is definitely one that would have the fans salivating. Some would argue that Jungleman is from another era and no longer classed as one of the true elite, but surely he’s still good enough to wipe the floor against a tournament specialist.

Hopefully now poker Twitter will be able to stir this up enough to get a match organised—hopefully with charity being the main benefactor.

Only last week Bryn Kenney called out Phil Hellmuth for a $1,000,000 heads-up match, so he’s clearly in the mood to get some action going.
