Motorhome Driven into Cannery Casino, One Person Injured

50-year-old Jennifer Stitt entered the casino last Friday morning. However, according to The Reno Gazette Journal, she was asked to leave because of her “disorderly conduct”. The casino staff has not specified yet what exactly the woman did that warranted her ejection from the venue.

Stitt refused to leave at first notice. Then she was informed that her refusal to leave amounts to illegal trespassing. That was enough to convince her to depart – however, she wasn’t willing to leave it at that just yet…

Around 6 AM last Friday, Stitt drove her motorhome through the glass doors of Cannery Casino.

A 66-year-old caretaker unfortunately got in her way and was critically injured. He survived the crash and is expected to fully recover.

The Woman is Charged with Attempted Murder

A spokesperson for the North Las Vegas Police recalled the tragic events when the RV hit her victim as such:

“He looked up and said ‘you’re hitting me!’ And she continued to accelerate at him, actually running him over. She knew fully well what she was doing.”

That is a very important fact of the case.

Since the perpetrator acted on purpose beyond a reasonable doubt, the police decided to press charges. The alleged crime is attempted murder, a category B felony in the state of Nevada. Jennifer Stitt could face as much as 20 years in state prison. She was arrested and is currently being held in custody on a $100,000 bail.

The vehicle that was driven through Cannery Casino & Hotel was a 1972 lime green RV, weighing around 5,000 pounds (around 2 metric tons).

It wasn’t towed until the next day, providing quite a spectacle for the locals. The commotion was so bad many of them described the events as something the likes of which they’ve never seen before.

Based on the posts made by the social media accounts of the Cannery Casino, their establishment has reopened already and the action is back to usual. Somewhat oddly, they decided not to post anything about the incident.
