The Swede, best known for his online endeavours under the pseudonym “C.Darwin2” was among 98 entries to the weekly Super High Roller.

The $1,000,000 prizepool promised four 6-figure prizes, with nine contenders making it to Tuesday night’s final table. Among them, two-time winner Dejan Kaladjurdjevic, who has won more than $4million from the weekly $10k SHR alone.

There were three players flying the Mexico flag, unsurprising with so many players in “nearby” Vegas for the WSOP, and one of them, Denis “D Zelenkin” Zelenkin, was our first casualty. He ran A♣ 5♣ into Mattsson’s A♦ K♠ blind-on-blind and that was all she wrote.

Brazil, as seemingly ever, had a player in the mix, this time the unheralded Enois2025 flying the flag. However, a rash 10BB call from the big blind backfired and it was out in 8th for a $41,423 payday.

Enrico Camosci’s exit was a bit of a cooler, finding himself in a pre-flop raising war with Mattsson. As Banjamin Rolle said in the livestream commentary booth with Jeff Gross, an earlier hand had seen Camosci’s jacks raised by Mattsson with A10. This time he had a better hand…

After Jackie_Brown exited in 6th place, it was Kaladjurdjevic in the short stack, Daubaris calling the Montenegrin’s 10BB shove…

Kaladjurdjevic: 9♠ 9♦

Daubaris: K♦ Q♥

Flop: 6♣ 7♣ K♣

Turn: 2♥

River: 5♦

When Arthur Conan spiked an ace on the flop with A♥ K♠ against Mattsson’s 10♥ 10♣ things looked good, but runner, runner clubs was a fatal bodyblow to the French pro.

Curiously, and unusually for such a high-level event, at this point Belarusian Yahor Dambrouski sat out (whether by accident or design). Mattsson and Deividas Daubaris eventually sat out too in solidarity, a great show of sportsmanship, Mattsson giving up a huge +EV spot as clear chip leader.

GGSittingOut1

Eventually they had to play 2-handed as Dambrouski showed no sign of returning and was blinded out. Mattsson’s 4:1 lead heads-up was quickly overturned, but he fought back quickly and finished things with a crushing blow…

Mattsson: 9♣ K♠

Daubaris: A♦ 9♥

Flop: 4♥ J♦ K♣

Turn: 5♣

River: K♦

…and took the fumes off Daubaris next hand for the win and his 4th GGMillion$ SHR title.
