The 33-year-old pro has steadily worked his way up the all-time leaderboard, now sitting in 4th place, ahead of Jason Koon and Daniel Negreanu and only behind Stephen Chidwick, Justin Bonomo and number one, Bryn Kenney.

This week in Monte Carlo, Bodyakovsky had already picked up €438,300 for a 6th spot finish in the €100k SHR, won by Chris Nguyen. The €50k buy-in Second Chance saw 50 entries produce a €2,425,500 prizepool (US$2,747,788).

By the time the final table came around, Bodyakovsky had to fend off the challenge of Nguyen looking for an SHR double, as well as his heads-up opponent Brian Kim.
