Kiat Lee has claimed his second title at the Triton Super High Roller Series after blitzing his way through the $30K NLH Turbo field in Montenegro.

This is almost the same event where he broke his duck earlier this year in Jeju. Earlier yesterday evening, Seth Davies had won his maiden Triton title after 17 final tables without success, exactly the same number as Lee.
Now they both have their names on the wall, as bellowed by Danny Tang in reference to the screens on every wall showcasing previous champions.
Lee beat off a field of 71 entries to snatch the biggest share of the $2,130,000 prize pool as he continues his journey up the all time money winners list.
Action Recap
As with any turbo event, the action was hot from the first hand with players busting left and right.
Matthias Eibinger was the player knocked out on the bubble after his K♦ Q♦ lost to Sameh Elamawy’s pocket fives.
That left 11 players and it was Ranno Sootla and Elamawy who missed out on a final table appearance. Elamawy was seen joking with his peers afterwards, exclaiming that he hadn’t used up all of his rungood before the $200K Triton Invitational.
Final table standings:
Player Name | Chip Stack | Big Blinds (BBs) |
Kiat Lee | 2,595,000 | 32 |
Punnat Punsri | 2,570,000 | 32 |
Thomas Santerne | 2,400,000 | 30 |
Michael Soyza | 1,425,000 | 18 |
Aleksandr Zubov | 1,300,000 | 16 |
Aleks Ponakovs | 1,150,000 | 14 |
Stanley Tang | 1,085,000 | 14 |
Adrian Mateos | 925,000 | 12 |
Maksim Shornikau | 750,000 | 9 |
With everyone short stacked already, this final table was guaranteed to produce fireworks.
Adrian Mateos didn’t get any help from the poker gods, even with his reputation, and in the first few hands the Spaniard burned his last seven blinds and headed to the rail.
Maksim Shornikau managed to hold on for a few more orbits before he could only look down on three blinds and called them off with Q♥ 6♦. Michael Soyza flipped over A♣ J♦ and Shornikau was out in eighth.
Aleks Ponakovs and Michael Soyza are both regs at the Triton stops and both are players to be feared. But the extremely short stacks in play meant that everyone was having to rely on their luck for the most part and the pair exited soon after the Belarusian leaving the Latvian waiting for his first Triton title.
Aleksandr Zubov and his pink pig are becoming a bit iconic at Triton, but his farmyard friend couldn’t help the Russian over the line last night.
Zubov’s event was ended by two all-ins which ended badly — A♦ 3♦ into Stanley Tang’s pocket queens and then A♦ K♣ came unstuck against Lee’s A♣ 4♥. $166,000 for a day’s work was nice enough compensation, though.

The finale flashed before us in a blink of an eye. Lee was in devastating form.
Thomas Santerne was swept aside when Lee’s Q♥ J♦ cracked A♥ 3♥. Punnat Punsri ran into pocket queens and then Stanley Tang could do no better than getting his remaining chips in with 9♦ 7♣ only for Lee’s J♦ 10♠ to get the job done.
Without any shadow of a doubt, Kiat Lee will be back winning even more Triton titles in no time at all.
