Jesse Lonis took down his maiden GGMillion$ title last night, turning a satellite entry into a $315k payday while playing on his mobile from Monte Carlo.
The former construction worker from New York was among 157 entries to the $10k buy-in MTT, a prizepool of $1.57million producing five 5-figure payouts up top.
Lonis was quick to share his deep run as Sunday night’s day one drew to a close, revealing that even the biggest winners in the game are looking to reduce costs … in for the min. for the win as they say…
In the @GGPoker 10k! Satty’d in for 1k.

The final table was a mix of renowned highstakes pros and anonymous online players, and as expected the flags of Brazil and Austria dominated.
The short stack was Bernard Binder, the Austrian pro who picked up a mammoth $1,834,484 winning the GGMillion$ Main Event earlier this year.
He couldn’t repeat that success, falling at the first hurdle when his A♣ Q♦ couldn’t catch Lonis’ 6♦ 6♣
It took more than an hour for our next exit, Brazil’s Davi Cola running short and then suffering a repeat of Binder’s fate…
The Good Doctor and TheProjector fell in 7th and 6th respectively, and play remained five-handed for a long time. Eventually, Brazilian pro Marcelo “MasesNeto” Aziz decided to get his last 12 BBs in… and incredibly Lonis had his usual answer.
Lonis: 6♠ 6♣
MasesNeto: A♥ 3♥
Flop: J♥ K♦ 10♠
Turn: 5♣
River: K♠
The popular GGPoker livestream, hosted by Jeff Gross and featuring special guest Joey Ingram, had an added feature – a GTO Wizard take on the players’ approach. Whether it will catch on or not remains to be seen, but it is certainly an interesting addition.
Meanwhile, Lonis varied his play a little to KO Simon Matsson in 4th spot, this time 7♠ 7♥ accounting for the Swede’s small ace, and then proved he could do things the other way…
Lonis: Q♥ K♥
Tkatschew: 8♠ 8♦
Flop: 3♣ Q♦ A♣
Turn: 10♣
River: 7♠
That left him with a 6:1 chip lead over Roland Rokita, and although he doubled once, he couldn’t get away from his overcards when Lonis 3-bet shoved the flop…
Rokita: A♠ K♦
Lonis: 8♥ 7♥
Flop: 2♠ 9♥ 7♣
Turn: 10♠
River: 9♠
Having just bagged the EPT Monte Carlo €30k SHR warm-up for €449,802 ($508,465) a few days ago, Lonis tweeted out his latest good news…
