Dominykas Mikolaitis has taken down Event #9 $50K NLH at Triton Montenegro to bag his first ever title at the Super High Roller Series.

The Lithuanian was ecstatic after sealing the win, telling reporters that he’s in this game purely for the trophies now.
“I’m more of a trophy guy than a money guy, so this means everything to me. It feels insane! This year I told my wife that this year was going to be about trophies…I really wanted the Triton trophy so I was very glad I can finally get it and lift it.”
All that said, we’re sure that the $1,258,000 was welcome after he came out on top of a field of 105 entries; 65 of them unique, building a prize pool of $5,000,000.
Action Recap
The $50K events at Triton are usually well-supported, but of course this one was going on at the same time as the $200K Triton Invitational which was won by Aleksa Pavicevic.
Even with 65 players lining up we did see plenty of star names in the mix and several of them put in a deep run. Jason Koon lasted until he was knocked out in 16th place, immediately followed by Phil Ivey, Ren Lin, Mikita Badziakouski, and Steve O’Dwyer.
After Jamil Wakil and Nacho Barbero left the stage it was time for another entertaining final table.
Player Name | Chip Stack | Big Blinds (BBs) |
Danilo Velasevic | 5,070,000 | 51 |
Alex Kulev | 4,395,000 | 44 |
Jesse Lonis | 3,135,000 | 31 |
Dominykas Mikolaitis | 2,350,000 | 24 |
David Peters | 2,250,000 | 23 |
Poseidon Ho | 1,410,000 | 14 |
Ben Tollerene | 1,390,000 | 14 |
Play had been uncharacteristically restrained during the early stages of this event, leaving the final seven players with short stacks. Fast play was guaranteed until the end and we were well entertained.
But even so, it still took a while before Ben Tollerene was knocked out in seventh place as David Peters rose to the top of the standings.
Play turned tight for a while as the average stack slipped to only 19BB. That 19 was a luxury for Mikolaitis who was down to his last 7, but an effective triple up in consecutive hands saw Danilo Velasevic out in sixth and the Lithuanian beginning his charge.
The next few eliminations came quickly, as they often do when the dam breaks. Poseidon Ho lost out with a superior ace against Jesse Lonis and then the American went to the rail soon after.

David Peters had already finished in third place in Montenegro and was destined for another in this event. After seeing his stack slip to only 12 big blinds, he risked it all with bottom pair against Mikolaitis and was out after the Lithuanian hit a runner-runner flush.
Mikolaitis was now heads-up with Kulev who won his maiden Triton title, but the Bulgarian was at a 2-1 chip deficit. Mikolaitis, though, was the man under pressure.
Sadly there was no treat of a heads-up battle. After only three hands the players each got it all-in with an ace and it was almost all over in Mikolaitis’s favour. A♣ 8♣ came out on top against A♥ 10♦ and one more hand was enough to seal the title victory.
