The GGPoker ambassador ended a decade of hurt last year when he won the $50,000 Poker Players Championship. Now he’s pushing hard to grab another of the coveted prizes by taking this great opportunity down.

It’s been a great summer so far with the Canadian picking up four final tables already and we all know how much another win would mean to him. For years a section of the crowd insisted that Negreanu wasn’t able to compete at the very highest level any more but he looks in as good a form as we’ve ever seen.

The action kicks off again at 1:00 pm local time and will play down to a winner.

China’s Quan Zhou Out in Front in $10K PLO Championship

Only seven players remain in Event #74: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship where Quan Zhou is the man to beat.

Alex Foxen was one of the favourites as the field thinned but currently he is propping up the field in last place with only 11 big blinds left. But if anyone can dig himself out of this hole it will be him.

Rising star Sean Rafael is chasing Zhou hard, sitting only 14 big blinds behind, and two-time bracelet winner Michael Wang is in third place with less than half of Zhou’s stack.

Shaun Deeb in Second Place after Day 1 in $10K Stud Hi/Lo

Shaun Deeb is another poker legend charging hard to win his next bracelet after ending Day 1 in second place in Event #77: $10,000 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship.

The tournament saw 160 entries, with more than half ending their runs before the end of play.

Deeb, only eight big bets behind leader Walter Chambers, is another big name having a great summer — a couple of final tables out of his 15 paydays. Can he get that seventh bracelet to get back on even terms with Daniel Negreanu? He certainly has a good chance.

$1,000 Mini Main Event Attracts 6,717 Entries on Day 1b

Ethan “Rampage” Yau made the top ten chip counts in Event #74: $1,000 Mini Main Event after an outstanding attendance of 6,717 players filled the playing hall for Day 1b.

As the real Main Event approaches, there were plenty of hopefuls jumping into this warm up event for only one tenth of the cost.

Also in the top ten is poker’s very own panto villain, Czechian Martin Kabrhel.

Day two is just getting underway where 859 players will be staking their claim for a shot at making the final table.
