With 125 entries at $10k per head there was a healthy $1.25million in the prizepool, producing five 5-figure payouts up top in the weekly SHR on GGPoker.
By the time they reached Tuesday’s final table of nine, one of the biggest winners in GGPoker history had made it through. Australia’s Michael Addamo, boasting $17,674,125 in earnings – placing him 3rd in the all-time list – with almost half of that coming from the GGMillion$, including 8 wins.
Addamo was joined by a number of other big names, but at the other end of the scale was the anonymous Israel-flag flying player Yougotofoldnow playing their first ever GGMillion$ event.
The Aussie pro, however, couldn’t make any headway with his short stack and was first to hit the rail, courtesy of Samuel Vousden…
Addamo: A♥ J♥
Vousden: A♣ K♣
Flop: 6♦ K♥ 10♠
Turn: 5♥
River: 2♠
Despite this big scalp, Vousden was next to depart when he decided to semi-bluff shove his BB against an early Nitsche open. Unfortunately, his A♥ 4♥ had run into Nitsche’s top of range :ak: K♠ and couldn’t recover.
Livestream for the Fans
Kevin Rabichow, this week’s guest alongside host Jeff Gross in the livestream was curious as to whether Vousden had previous with Nitsche that led to the shove or if it was just a randomised spot.
One of the two anonymous accounts in the mix, nicomind89, fell to Camosci and when Caspar Engelien was rivered out of the game by Nitsche, the remaining quintet had sewn up $100k plus change.
Emilien Pitavy, by now the short stack, shoved blind-on-blind but not only walked into a big hand, but an even bigger flop…
No way back and that meant 5th place and $101,039 for the Frenchman flying the Austrian flag.
Velasevic was hunting a third GGMillion$ title and looked set to double when he got it in good against Yougotofoldnow…
Velasevic: A♠ K♠
Yougotofoldnow: A♦ 4♦
Flop: 2♠ 3♦ Q♠
Turn: A♣
…but the river was a brutal 2-outer…
River: 5♥
…and that sent the Serbian sprawling out on 4th place for $129,378
Camosci had to settle for third and a $165,666 payout when he lost two crucial hands to Nitsche and that left the German heads-up with the anonymous Yougotofoldnow.
Heads-up GTO Battle
Nitsche, known by many for being at the centre of Jonathan Tamayo’s controversial “LaptopGate” victory at last year’s WSOP Main Event held a 2:1 chip lead.
It was interesting to see how Nitsche’s GTO-approved lines were met by his opponent’s clearly non-GTO plays and the cards had their say too, no more so than in the final hand…
Nitsche: K♠ A♣
Yougotofoldnow: A♥ 2♠
Flop: 5♣ 6♥ 8♥
Turn: A♦
River: 2♦
The sneaky river check by Yougotofoldnow saw Nitsche bet out almost pot and when confronted with a 4-bet shove he couldn’t get away from it and we had a new GGMillion$ champion.
