Sean Jazayeri has won a career best prize of $368,025 after defeating a field of 3,362 to win the $1,000 Super Seniors event.

The American put in a great performance over the four days and dazzled the crowd with one of the best comebacks from this series after seemingly being dead in the water.

Final Action

There were 11 players still in the game when the action WSOP resumed. And when the final table was set, Yucel Eminoglu was the man feeling most confident, holding a significant lead.

By the time those nine had been reduced to two, Eminoglu started the heads-up match with a two-to-one advantage and set off with a bang to further extend it.

Jazayeri even had an all-in which put his tournament life at risk but it wasn’t long before a momentous comeback was underway.

The American soon began to win every pot that was contested, and before long he held the chip lead for the first time.

Only a few hands after the lead switched, Jazayeri found his dream spot, getting his ace-ten all-in against the ace-eight of Eminoglu.

The board ran out with no help for the Turkish player and Jazayeri was crowned champion.

He told the waiting media:

“I feel great, it’s always been on my bucket list. Hopefully I’ll win a bracelet in an open event, too, but man, this is a dream come true.

“I hate playing short stack, but it’s the easiest way to play. You either shove or you fold, and I was very lucky with a couple of hands like when I had ace-five against kings.

“Super, super lucky. Then I won a race with ace-queen against jacks, so it all worked out. Luck is a part of this game.”
