Final Action

Day 3 saw 21 players vying for the win with aggressive play from the field as soon as the announcer called to shuffle up and deal.

Several players didn’t even make it past the first few levels and it wasn’t until the final two tables were set that we saw a noticeable slow down in pace.

As heads-up play started, Jon Kyte was first to apply pressure to his opponent, quickly building a lead.

But it didn’t take long for Sammartino to respond, and during an Omaha round he turned the tables after flopping a set which became a full house to win a big pot.

After that hand, the Italian never looked back and masterfully closed out the event with some fine aggressive play.

Dario Sammartino had finally won his bracelet after 24 times playing at a WSOP final table.

“Oh, I feel so good, and finally, after 12 years, I am so happy. It was a very tough field.

“This field was amazing. I played online all year and many mixed games with some of the best players. I learned from the best by playing with the best. Last year, I started to study and improve, and now I’m a bit better.”
