The pair of free-spirited personalities wore unconventional outfits, far from traditional get-up in the colourful backdrop of Burning Man in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert.

The choice of venue was no surprise to those who know the pair. Boeree described the place as their “favourite place on earth.”

Liv Boeree and Igor Kurganov have been poker’s most famous couple since they got together in 2014, only rivaled by Alex and Kristen Foxen.

Brit Boeree is famed for her intellect as well as her looks, achieving a First Class Honours degree in Physics with Astrophysics at the University of Manchester.

Quickly displayed an aptitude for the game, she won the 2008 Ladbrokes European Ladies Championships and then a couple of years later she bagged an EPT Main Event in Sanremo, Italy.

At the WSOP 2017, Boeree and Kurganov took down the $10,000 Tag Team No-Limit Hold’em Championship for their first and only bracelets, before turning their back on the professional game a couple of years later.

These days the pair can be found working for the charity project they founded, Raising for Effective Giving, where they educate about effective altruism.
