The online legend topped a field of 35 entries in what is the second largest buy-in event at the series, with a still impressive prize pool of €1,646,400 given the small field.
Belarus’s Mikalai Vaskaboinikau pushed the Swede the hardest but ultimately had to settle for a €403,400 runner-up prize.
Action Recap
With only five players getting paid, it was always going to be a tough result for whoever bubbled. That dubious honour went to Spanish wizard Adrian Mateos, one of the very best in the game right now.
Another of the current greats is Artur Martirosian and he managed to pull off the min-cash of €156,400 as he approaches the $30 million mark for all-time winnings and also the top 30 on the money list.
Enrico Camosci quickly followed his rival to the rail, the Italian collecting €193,500 for his efforts.
This left three players to duke it out for the podium place, and there was no weak spot in the line-up. It would all come down to whoever had the rub of the green.

In the end it was Thailand’s rising star Punnat Punsri who took bronze, adding another €267,500 to his fast-growing total.
He was also likely cursing his luck after coming so close again having already chalked up a pair of runner-up finishes this week in the €12,300 Cuatro Knockout and €100,000 Super High Roller. This young man is an incredible talent, already 30th on the all-time money list having only started his career properly seven years ago.
That left Mikalai Vaskaboinikau to do his best against one of the greatest online players in poker history, but it wasn’t to be his day.
The final hand saw Belarusian all-in with A♥ 8♣ on a board of A♣ 7♥ 5♦ 3♥ 8♦ only to find out his top two pair was no good against the turned straight of Astedt who held 6♦ 4♥.
Incredibly, the €625,600 ($738,208) was online legend Niklas Astedt’s second largest payday of his live tournament career after the $4,000,000 he banked for his third place in the WSOP 2024 Main Event.
