Benjamin Rolle Fells Niklas Astedt for $360k GGMillion$ Win

Benjamin Rolle emerged triumphant from the battle of the online crushers on GGMillion$ this week, picking up $360k after defeating Niklas Astedt heads-up.

The legendary online poker duo—known widely as “bencb” and “Lena900” respectively— were among 179 starters for the weekly $10k buy-in SHR on GGPoker last Sunday.

Final table

Come Tuesday evening and the final nine convened to fight it out for top honours, with anonymous Canadian account “rivo-john” leading the chip stacks with 95 bigs. Haraldstad, by contrast, was on fumes at 4BB.

The Norwegian fell almost immediately to Rolle, who was among the shorter stacks himself, and it took close to an hour for our next exit. That saw a pre-flop all-in, Rolle against last week’s winner, Audrius Stakelis

Rolle: K♠ K♣

Stakelis: J♠ J♣

Flop: 8♣ 3♠ 6♥

Turn: 3♥

River: 3♦

That meant a very decent 8th spot and $65,626 for the Lithuanian pro this week.

One of two Canadians, Pascal Lefrancois, bust in 7th when he ran A♦ Q♥ smack bang into Astedt’s pocket aces. The 10 and J on the flop gave us a sweat but to no avail.

Five-handed play lasted an hour, but something (someone!) finally had to give and that was Nikita Kalinin, his blind-on-blind shove called off by Astedt…

Astedt also got the better of “rivo-john”, a 10♥ 8♥ call and an 8 on the flop enough to topple the Canadian’s K♦ J♦ shove.

A similar all-in pre situation saw off England’s Jon Proudfoot in 3rd place…

Proudfoot: A♦ K♠

Rolle: 7♥ 5♥

Flop: 7♠ Q♦ 5♣

Turn: K♦

River: 5♠

Legends Heads-up

Heads-up brought us Rolle vs Astedt, two of the most successful players in the history of the online game.

Evenly matched as they started out, it was a ding-dong battle that eventually turned Rolle’s way when the Swede couldn’t get away from his outkicked ace on an ace-high flop. The end, which soon arrived, was a similar story…
