With the WSOP Main Event in full swing and a big $50k bracelet event about to start, this week’s flagship $10k SHR on GGPoker did well to attract a healthy 111 entries.
The prizepool of $1,110,000 would offer four 6-figure prizes up top and by the time Tuesday evening’s final table arrived the remaining nine were guaranteed $33k plus change.
With Jeff Gross on WSOP duties in Vegas, the livestream was handed over to Michael Jozoff, with this week’s special guest Michael Berk helping to call the action.
The chip stacks at start of play saw RaiseYourEdge founder Benjamin Rolle out front, a Montenegrin duo close behind, and Russian Alexey IamBusinessman Savenkov bringing up the rear.
It took a while to lose our first player and when he went it was a bad beat river that sent Poonster sprawling:
Poonster: A♠ 10♦
FXXKMYLIF3: A♣ 7♥
Flop: Q♥ Q♦ 6♦
Turn: 6♣
River: 7♦
Savenkov seemed determined to lose his chips, out in 8th, and was followed to the rail by Capela who was hit by a nasty turned set when all-in and ahead with top pair.
Palamar was also a victim of FXXKMYLIF3, putting in his last couple of blinds with second pair on the flop only to find his opponent with a bigger pair in the hole.
Five-handed play saw the two Montenegrins clash, getting it all-in pre-flop in a hand that showed the kind of luck you need to go all the way…
Next up on the FXXKMYLIF3 chopping block was Benjamin “bencb” Rolle, racing for his life after a big blind shove…
Benjamin Rolle: 9♥ 9♣
FXXKMYLIF3: K♣ Q♠
Flop: 2♣ K♥ 3♠
Turn: 2♥
River: 6♦
That meant we had three anonymous accounts in the podium spots for the first time in a long time. It wasn’t long before we were heads-up, Travoita’s last few big blinds going to jinx34 flying the Hong Kong flag.
A 2:1 chip lead for the Montenegrin didn’t last long, barely able to win a hand as his opponent pulled away into the distance. The end of the one-sided battle, when it arrived, was a mercy.
FXXKMYLIF3: K♦ Q♣
jinx34: A♦ 10♦
Flop: 2♠ 10♣ 4♣
Turn: 9♥
River: 6♥
With that, jinx34 had bagged his first GGMillion$ SHR at their very first attempt!
