Bracelets and Bubbles
First port of call for the over-40s was the money bubble on day two and it was Gary Benson who would leave empty-handed, running most of his stack into quads, then his fumes going ‘West’ too…
Gary Benson: 4♥ 4♦
Ron West: Q♠ Q♣
Flop: J♦ 3♥ 2♦
Turn: 2♠
River: 6♦
Legends on site: John Juanda, @Erik_Seidel and Billy Baxter are among the players that have returned for Day 2 or the $5,000 Seniors High Roller.

Those who made it to the paid spots included Hall of Famers Billy Baxter (48th for $13,246) and John Juanda (58th for $11,801) with 12 WSOP gold bracelets between them, but 10-time bracelet winner Johnny Chan was among the also-rans.
Mike The Mouth Exits
Running deep on day 3, however, was Mike “The Mouth” Matusow, hunting his 5th piece of WSOP gold jewellery. It wasn’t to be, though, as his luck ran out in 15th place…
Mike Matusow: A♦ Q♠
Carmino Argiero: J♦ J♠
Matusow’s pre-flop shove had him all-in and at risk…
Flop: 5♣ 5♦ 5♠
Turn: K♥
The legend still had 7 outs on the river but he couldn’t find one of them …
River: 9♥
…and it was off to the payout desk for Mike Matusow.

The plan had been to finish things off on day 3, but they had to add an extra day when four players still remained after ten 1-hour levels. Baker and Chuanshu Chen led the way in chips, with Matusow’s executioner Argiero and Ron West still in the mix.
Argiero managed to avoid busting in a kings versus aces situation on the very first hand, an ace on the flop and a bet scaring the cowboys off, and laddered up when Ron West fell in 4th to Chen.
Quads Crack Kings
It was a spirited affair 3-handed, all with 30-40 BBs to manoeuvre with, and eventually it was a double cooler that saw off Argiero.
David “ODB” Baker: 6♠ 6♦
Carmino Argiero: K♥ K♣
Baker was in rough shape when all the chips went in pre- but the runout couldn’t have been better for him…
Flop: 5♠ 6♣ 3♣
Turn: 6♥
River: 9♥
Argiero still had chips, but he then ran K♦ Q♥ into Chen’s [pocket rockets and that was that – 3rd place and $302,208 for an excellent run.
Baker had to overturn a slight chip deficit for bracelet number four, but when he did he steadily [pulled away, eventually finishing things off with another nice flop…
Chen: K♠ 10♦
Baker: A♣ 3♥
Flop: 7♦ 3♣ A♠
Turn: Q♦
River: 6♥
You could see how much his first NLH brace let meant to Baker…
