Head of SEO Products: Poker & Casino
João is the Head of SEO Products at VIP-Grinders, where he leads the strategy behind our poker and casino content since May 2024. He is responsible for identifying content opportunities, optimizing pages for search performance, and making sure every review, guide, and bonus breakdown on the site reaches the players who need it.
What sets João apart from most iGaming content specialists is that he has worked on the operator side of the business for years. As Country Manager and Product Owner at The Rank Group, he helped launch a fully licensed sportsbook and casino for the Portuguese regulated market and led the product roadmap for the Enracha sportsbook brand in Spain.
Before that, he was Product Owner at Nossa Aposta, one of Portugal’s licensed betting operators, where he managed day-to-day sportsbook and casino operations, built retention campaigns, and worked directly with affiliate teams on deal strategy.
João also spent over four years as a Content Writer and Betting Expert at Sportsbook Review (SBR), one of the most established names in sports betting media, analysing tennis betting markets and producing editorial content for both SBR and OddsMarket.
Earlier in his career, he held Sportsbook Manager and Sports CRM Coordinator roles at Aspire Global, where he managed risk classification, built promotional campaigns, and was involved in launching both B2B and B2C sportsbook products across regulated markets.
His career started in sports journalism, covering professional tennis for outlets including Ubitennis and providing on-site reporting at the 2013 Portugal Open. He also ran a verified tennis betting advisory service from 2014 to 2017 with over 2,500 tracked plays.
This combination of operator experience, sports betting product management, editorial work at a major review platform, and hands-on betting knowledge means João understands the iGaming space from the inside out. When he writes about a poker bonus, a casino promotion, or iGaming industry, he has sat on both sides of the table.
Based in Malta, João spends his free time on the tennis or padel court.
