Day 1: Tuesday, May 26
The 2026 WSOP opened with two events firing simultaneously. The $550 Mini Mystery Millions (Event #1) drew 1,635 entries on Day 1a alone, with five more flights to come. The series opener is targeting the all-time WSOP single-event attendance record.
The $5,000 8-Handed NLH (Event #2) attracted 415 entries on Day 1, creating a $1,909,000 prize pool with late registration still open. Eight-time winner Shaun Deeb, Viktor Blom, Nate Silver and Maria Konnikova all advanced.
Event #1: $550 Mini Mystery Millions (Day 1a)
Day 1a reduced 1,635 entries to 60 survivors over 22 levels. All 60 bagged in the money and return on Day 2 (May 31) once the remaining flights are complete. The $1 million jackpot mystery bounty kicks in on Day 2.
Jansen Satparam earned the first chip leader title of the 2026 WSOP, running his 25,000 starting stack up to 1,800,000. Three-time bracelet winner David Prociak (1,500,000) and four-time winner Chad Eveslage (690,000) are among the experienced names through to Day 2.
Ari Engel, Ryan Leng and Darryll Fish all cashed but fell before bagging.

Event #2: $5,000 8-Handed NLH (Day 1)
Five-time bracelet winner Yuri Dzivielevski finished Day 1 with 715,000 chips (286 big blinds), nearly 200K clear of the next closest stack. 142 of 415 entries survived, and late registration remains open until approximately 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

Notable stacks: five-time winner Martin Kabrhel (298,000) is the highest-ranked bracelet holder outside the Top 10. Defending Player of the Year Shaun Deeb (215,500) starts his title defence here, and Viktor Blom (200,500) continues his search for a first WSOP bracelet.
Nate Silver (175,500), four-time winner Josh Arieh (129,000) and Maria Konnikova (75,000) also survived Day 1. Eight-time bracelet winner Benny Glaser (37,500) scraped through with the shortest stack among the notable names after winning three bracelets at the 2025 WSOP.
Coming Up on Day 2 (Wednesday, May 27)
Event #3: $500 Industry Employees NLH starts at noon. Defending champion Phovieng Keokham won a bracelet and $64,369 in this event last year.
At 2:00 p.m., Event #4: $1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better becomes the first non-Hold’em event of the series. The 2025 edition drew 910 entrants and David Shmuel took the gold for $205,333.
Latest Bracelet Winners
No bracelets have been awarded yet. The first gold of the summer is expected when Event #2 concludes on Thursday, May 29. Event #1 plays through to its final table on June 1.

POY prize structure: 1st to 3rd receive a $100,000 WSOP Paradise package. 4th to 15th receive a $30,000 package. 16th to 50th receive a $5,000 Circuit Championship ticket. 51st to 100th receive a $2,500 Circuit Championship ticket.
