Drunk Poker Player Jeff Lennon Ruins PGT Championship Finale

Drunk and obnoxious loudmouths who ruin the game for everyone else are not unheard of, but you don’t expect them at the season-finale of one the biggest tournament series of the year! Jeff Lennon was the bad guy and Alex Foxen among those unimpressed…

Jeff Lennon won his “Dream Seat” from a $300 tournament, seeing him sitting alongside the absolute crème de la crème of world poker, all chasing a $500,000 top prize in the PGT Championship $1million Freeroll.

However, Lennon appeared to have knocked back one too many, and when he made it to the feature table he behaved like an obnoxious frat boy.

Arden Cho, who eventually finished 2nd to Daniel Smiljkovic for a career-best $200k, bore the brunt of his puerile nonsense.

“Your boyfriend’s a poker player, isn’t he?” was Lennon’s opening line, Cho replying, “I don’t have a boyfriend, and I don’t date poker players.”

“Are you into girls? What’s going on here? Something’s off,” was Lennon’s pathetic follow-up, adding: “Something is definitely off because you’re super-hot. You’re super-hot and you don’t have a boyfriend.”

Lennon not only described poker players as “f*****g nerds,” but called another player at the table a “c***”, before stating: “I’m an amateur player… I just like to have fun… and I like Asian women.”

Topping things off with an unwanted hug for Cho, Lennon was eventually taken off the feature table and later bust out in 22nd spot.

There were those, however, who felt he should have been thrown out for his drunken antics.

  • “Jeff Lennon was egregiously unbearable” – Brian Hastings
  • “Not sure why someone didn’t step in to eject anyone that drunk and obnoxious” – Susan Webb
  • “Giving clowns free seats helps no one, just makes it all a joke” – Alex Foxen

Jeff Lennon wasn’t the only player to be in trouble for drunken idiocy recently, the Borgata Winter Open featuring a player DQ’d for spitting on the dealer.

Apparently “previously disruptive”, the unnamed player returned from a break and was incoherent, spat on the dealer, and was then escorted from the hall by five security guards to the cry of “Lock him up!”

Of course, enjoying a drink while playing is a normal part of amateur play, and even at professional level with the likes of Scotty Nguyen rarely seen without a beer in hand.
