$2.85 Million WSOP final table pro Nic Manion in naked pics Twitter war

Courtney “liberalchick” Hamilton accuses Manion of harassing women

Under his Twitter nickname ‘spewzata’, Manion was accused of violating and harassing women by fellow poker player Courtney ‘liberalchick’ Hamilton.

Manion allegedly having received and kept naked photos of Hamilton sent by a 3rd party.

Manion, whose WSOP win of $2.85 million saw him collect about half of that due to a backing deal, wasn’t slow to respond, tweeting back with some venom…

…alleging that Hamilton wasn’t so disgusted by him when he had just won his life-changing money in Vegas this summer…

Revenge porn

Hamilton, however, continued with her accusations, tweeting to her followers that ‘revenge porn’ is a serious matter, claiming it is “raping that person of the ability to control who sees their body”.

Manion, for his part, was unrepentant – and unwilling or unable to see what exactly he has done wrong…

The tawdry tirade of accusations and counterblows is a far cry from the sweetness and light of Manion’s account of his amazing summer.

The Nic Manion Story

With only around $16,000 to his name in live tournament winnings according the Hendon Mob database, his massive WSOP scoop changed his life instantly….

Unbenannt-3

Luxury cars and gifts for friends and family became the norm….

Manion also buying a huge ‘hauler’ mobile home, telling reporters “my parents can now travel and use this stuff whenever, and my sister, her husband and their 2-year-old. So it’s not just for me, but a family investment thing.”

It’s not clear if Manion even possess the naked photos of Hamilton that he claims to have, and the very public dispute will certainly paint him in a new light for many.

The Social Media Effect

The viral effects of social media are responsible for many modern-day disasters for those who suddenly hit the limelight but couldn’t work out how to ‘play the game’.

Twitter has become the forum of choice for poker players to air their dirty laundry and grievances, multiple incidents being played out across the 280-characters.

The Will Kassouf debacle

The recent Will Kassouf debacle became one of the biggest stories of this year after Shaun Deeb revealed that he had been informed of Kassouf allegedly stealing chips from a friend during a drunken casino night out.

Almost as soon as the twittersphere had warmed to the tale of ‘poker pro gone bad’, Kassouf had parted company with his sponsors Grosvenor Poker.

When he eventually broke his silence following several days of the poker Twitterati going crazy and the poker forums picking apart almost every aspect of his behaviour, Kassouf released a statement.

The lack of detailed information from Kassouf ignited a new round of abuse aimed at the polarising English poker pro, and Kassouf has barely been seen on the platform since.

Previous?

For Hamilton it’s not the first time her Twitter account has veered away from her poker play towards matters of a much less savoury type.

Last year she became the focus of a Poker Fraud Alert thread, post 9 by the owner Todd ‘Dan Druff’ Witteles detailing another instance of men rubbing Hamitlon up the wrong way.

What now?

Whether Manion or Hamilton resort to the ‘apologies and forget it’ approach, or continue their battle in public, or even disappear from Twitter completely a la Kassouf remains to be seen.

However, debts, bad behaviour and pretty much everything else of a negative nature tend to remain in the poker community, courtesy of the internet, for a long time – and it’s not a good look for the game.
