Bots and AI assistants reach every real-money poker site, and WPT Global is no exception. Any room claiming otherwise is either not looking or not telling you.

WPT Global poker bot detection, with $427,481 confiscated from banned accounts between January and October 2025

What separates one room from another is how much they spend on catching them, and what they do when they find one. On both counts, WPT Global sits near the front of the industry, with one open complaint that has never been resolved.

Are There Bots on WPT Global?

People try, constantly, on every platform worth attacking, and organized bot farms have been found running across several rooms at once.

John Andress, who runs security at WPT Global's platform provider A5 Labs, was blunt about operators who claim otherwise:

They do not understand the evolution of the problem, or they are being dishonest.

John Andress, Head of Security at A5 Labs, speaking to PokerNews in July 2024

The useful question is whether they can operate profitably before being caught. Alex Scott, then President of WPT Global and since departed, addressed that in a public post, writing that the site is “undoubtedly a red site.”

That is his own phrasing rather than a formal industry term. The sense of it is a room where cheating carries enough risk that it is not worth the attempt.

How WPT Global AI Bot Detection Works

Detection runs through AceGuardian, a machine learning system built by A5 Labs and retrained continuously on hands played across the network. Andress told PokerNews that more than 99% of issues are identified proactively by automated systems, though that figure is the operator's own and has not been independently audited.

Behind the software sits a game integrity team of around 50 people working in shifts around the clock, made up of data analysts, poker specialists and former professionals.

Scott described how that team is judged: not on how much money it seizes, but on whether cheaters can sustain a positive win rate. That is a harder target than a ban count, and a more useful one for anyone deciding where to deposit.

The methods themselves are not exotic. They are the signals every serious room now watches:

SignalWhat it catches
Timing analysisSoftware holds a flat rhythm. Humans slow down on hard decisions and speed up on easy ones
Statistical modelingPlay mirroring solver output too closely, over too many hands, at a win rate no human sustains
Device and account linkingShared hardware fingerprints, datacenter IP ranges and login geography tying accounts together
Behavioral signalsSession lengths no person could sit, and interface interaction that never varies
Collusion patternsAccounts avoiding pots against each other, or entering and leaving tables together

None of these is conclusive alone. A skilled player trained on solvers will look statistically unusual, which is why flagged accounts go to human review rather than triggering automatic bans.

Two other pieces sit underneath. The random number generator is certified by Gaming Laboratories International, an independent testing house, and GeoComply supplies fraud detection and geolocation that makes coordinated account farms harder to run from one place.

Does WPT Global Allow AI Assistants and RTA?

No. Rule 9.2 of the WPT Global rulebook prohibits robots and any external player assistance program that distorts normal play. It also requires players to make their own decisions without help beyond what they see at the table.

That second half is the part people miss. The ban is not limited to software that plays hands for you:

  • Bots and any software that plays hands automatically
  • Real-time assistance, including solvers consulted mid-hand
  • Preflop charts, range matrices and strategy plots kept open during play
  • Third-party HUDs and tracking software
  • Data mining hands you were not dealt into

A preflop chart open on a second monitor falls inside this. So does a solver you consult mid-hand. For the full picture of how the room operates, see our WPT Global review.

What Happens When a Poker Bot Gets Caught

Confirmed accounts are banned and their balances confiscated. The money is then redistributed to the players who lost to them, rather than kept by the room.

WPT Global publishes something almost no operator does: a running total of what it takes off cheats, on a public game integrity page. Between January and October 2025 it reported $427,481.32 confiscated and fully redistributed to affected players.

An earlier version of that disclosure, published in June 2025, also listed the internal account IDs behind the first $166,885.07. The figures are self-reported and unaudited, but few operators publish any total at all, and the page is updated periodically rather than on a fixed schedule.

Figures from WPT Global's published game integrity disclosure

The headline number: $427,481.32 taken off banned accounts in ten months, all of it returned to the players who lost it. Most rooms publish nothing comparable.

Enforcement can also be fast. In May 2025 a streamer had spreadsheets of preflop ranges visible during a broadcast. Patrick Leonard, who flagged it publicly, said WPT Global banned the account within 30 minutes.

The room announced it rather than handling it quietly, posting simply: “We don't tolerate RTA.”

Enforcement elsewhere has reached the top of the game too, as the Fedor Kruse RTA scandal showed.

Getting Paid to Report a WPT Global Poker Bot

WPT Global runs a reward scheme called Rewarding Integrity in Poker, or RIP, which pays players whose reports lead to confirmed action. The room says it has paid six figures to several hundred players since launch.

  • Where to send it: gameintegrity@wptglobal.com with specific accounts, dates and stakes
  • Anonymity: anonymous tips are accepted, but ID is required to claim a cash reward
  • Process: screening, then investigation, then verification before any action
  • Reward: set case by case. Baseless or malicious reports are ignored

Players see things software does not, particularly patterns across sessions, and paying for that turns the player base into an extra detection layer.

Every claim on this page comes from WPT Global's own published disclosures, from independent reporting, or from players who went public. We have flagged which is which. The enforcement figures are the room's own numbers rather than audited ones, and the open complaint below is included for the same reason the favorable numbers are.

Where the Bot Detection Has Been Criticized

In June 2025 a player published a detailed report claiming he had documented more than 130 suspected bot accounts on the Chinese-yuan cash tables over roughly three months. He described accounts running 12 to 48 hour sessions with near-identical statistics and betting patterns, some sharing profile images.

He said WPT Global confirmed many were banned and funds confiscated, but that he received around $100 against losses he put in the thousands, and a reward working out at roughly $3.85 per account reported. WPT Global responded publicly that the $100 related to a separate banned account and that the bot investigation remained open.

As far as we can find, that case has never been publicly resolved. It is the strongest open criticism of the room's handling of this.

Still open: we have found no published resolution to the 130-account report. We will update this page if WPT Global closes it or the affected players are reimbursed.

The room's judgment has also been questioned. In January 2026 it signed an ambassador who had been sanctioned for coaching a player during a tournament on a rival platform, not on WPT Global, and two other ambassadors left over the decision.

Resourcing is a fair question too. A reported management overhaul in December 2025 cut around 60 roles across WPT Global and A5 Labs.

How WPT Global Compares on Poker Bot Enforcement

Every major room now bans bots and RTA. What differs is how much they publish.

RoomPublished enforcementThird-party HUDs
WPT Global$427,481 returned (Jan to Oct 2025), running total publishedNot supported
GGPoker31 accounts banned for RTA, February 2025Prohibited, own Smart HUD only
partypoker291 accounts closed, $71,771 returned in 2024Restricted, limited approved tools
CoinPoker98 bot accounts, $156,446 refunded in one week, January 2026Prohibited since June 2026
888pokerOver $250,000 returned in 2024, per a fraud-industry reportAllowed

WPT Global's total is the largest on that list and the only one published as a running figure rather than an annual round-up. Whether HUD bans help is genuinely contested, and rooms move in both directions: CoinPoker lifted its ban in January 2025, then reinstated it in June 2026.

GGPoker has made comparable commitments without going as far on disclosure, as its game integrity statement set out.

How to Spot a Bot on WPT Global

You are not going to catch a well-built bot from the table. You can catch a badly built one, and most of them are badly built.

The tells cluster around consistency. A bot holds the same decision speed whether the spot is trivial or complex, lands on identical bet sizes in identical situations, and sits sessions of 12 hours or more without the drift a tired human shows.

Bot rings give themselves away differently. Look for several accounts at one table sharing near-identical statistics or similar profile images, or a new account playing serious volume from day one with no learning curve behind it.

None of this is proof. Plenty of strong players are fast, consistent and play long sessions. Treat these as a reason to gather detail, not a verdict.

If something looks wrong, note the account name, the date, the stake and any hands you can point to, then send it to gameintegrity@wptglobal.com. Do not try to test the account by playing differently against it, and do not accuse anyone in chat.

So Is WPT Global Safe From Bots?

Safer than most, on the evidence. The room names its detection technology, publishes a running total of what it confiscates, pays players to report what they see, and has banned a public figure within half an hour of the evidence appearing. Most operators do one or two of those. We have not found another doing all four.

It is not spotless. One player's report of a 130-account ring has sat unresolved since 2025, and that matters more than any marketing claim on either side.

If you play there, the practical answer is the same as anywhere: watch for the patterns above, report what looks wrong, and expect the room to act on it. On current evidence, this one usually does.

WPT Global Bots and AI: FAQs

Does WPT Global have poker bots?

Yes, in the sense that people attempt it on every real-money platform. What matters is how quickly they are caught. WPT Global publishes its enforcement figures, names its security technology, and confiscated $427,481.32 from banned accounts between January and October 2025 according to its own disclosure, all of it redistributed to affected players.

Is there a working WPT Global bot?

Several websites sell software marketed as a WPT Global bot or RTA tool and promise it cannot be detected. WPT Global bans accounts for exactly this and confiscates their balances, then redistributes the money to the players who were cheated. Some of these vendor sites still name a company that no longer operates WPT Global, which is a fair measure of how current their information is.

Are WPT Global hack tools real?

No tool gives you access to other players' cards or to the shuffle. The random number generator is certified by Gaming Laboratories International, an independent testing house. What the software sold online actually does is suggest plays, which is real-time assistance, which is banned and detectable.

Does WPT Global allow AI assistants or RTA?

No. Rule 9.2 prohibits robots and any external player assistance program that distorts normal play. The prohibited list extends to strategy charts, range matrices and plots consulted during a hand, not only to software that plays for you.

How does WPT Global detect poker bots?

Detection combines timing analysis, statistical modeling of play patterns against solver output, device fingerprinting, account linking and collusion pattern analysis. WPT Global runs this through AceGuardian, a machine learning system from its platform provider A5 Labs, with a security team of around 50 people reviewing flagged cases.

What happens if you get caught using a bot on WPT Global?

Accounts are banned and funds are confiscated, then redistributed to the players who lost money to them. WPT Global publishes the running total on its game integrity page. In May 2025 it banned a streamer within roughly 30 minutes of strategy charts appearing on his broadcast.

Can you use a HUD on WPT Global?

Third-party HUDs and tracking software are not supported. Rooms that ban HUDs reduce data mining and some assistance methods, but they also remove a tool players use to spot suspicious opponents themselves. It is a trade-off rather than a clear advantage, and rooms have moved in both directions on it.

How do I report a suspected bot on WPT Global?

Email gameintegrity@wptglobal.com with the account names, dates, stakes and any hand details you have. Anonymous reports are accepted, though contact details are needed to claim a reward under the Rewarding Integrity in Poker program. Do not confront the account yourself, just document and report.

Is WPT Global safe from cheating?

No site is free of attempts. On the evidence available, WPT Global's detection resourcing and its willingness to publish enforcement numbers put it near the front of the industry. It also has an unresolved player complaint about a bot ring reported in 2025, which is covered on this page.
