GGPoker has signed Lex Veldhuis as its Global Streaming Ambassador, the room announced on 3 November 2026, ten months after the Dutch streamer ended a 17-year partnership with PokerStars.

He joins a GGTeam roster that includes fellow PokerStars convert Daniel Negreanu, who made the same move in 2020. Also named in GGPoker's release is 2025 Main Event champion Michael Mizrachi, one of the players already on the team.

In the same release, Veldhuis said GGPoker “really feels like the natural fit for me and my community”.

What the GGPoker Deal Asks of Lex Veldhuis

The role has three parts, two aimed at his own audience and one at the wider streaming scene.

  • He streams his GGPoker sessions regularly, on his own channel.
  • He hosts exclusive tournaments and promotions for his community.
  • He speaks for online poker content creators and showcases GGPoker's Streamer Mode to them.

Negreanu, quoted in the announcement, called him one of the biggest names in poker streaming. Veldhuis went to work on announcement day, joining Jeff Gross in the commentary booth for the GGMillion$ High Rollers final table, won by Vladimir Minko for $404,362.40.

Who Is Lex Veldhuis?

Veldhuis was born in Vlissingen in the Netherlands and joined PokerStars as an ambassador in 2009. Over his 17 years with the room he took his game to Twitch, and his streams won Streamer of the Year at the first two Global Poker Awards.

He has more than $700,000 in live tournament cashes, according to The Hendon Mob. His biggest came in 2009, when he finished seventh in a $40,000 No-Limit Hold'em event at the WSOP.

His most recent nomination came at the February 2025 ceremony, where the award went to PokerStars streamer Ben “Spraggy” Spragg. Spragg, Jaime Staples and Parker Talbot appear alongside him among poker's best-known streamers and content creators.

Ten Months on GGPoker Before the Patch

Veldhuis announced on 3 January 2026 that he was leaving PokerStars, and went live on GGPoker the same day. GGPoker holds a Dutch licence, which meant he could play from home in the Netherlands.

By his own account on X, he won the first GGPoker tournament he played. In the announcement he says he has played only on GGPoker over the past year, and that it renewed his enjoyment of the grind.

The deal does not move him to a new site: he was already grinding there as a free agent. What it adds is the patch, the title and a set of events for his viewers.

A Busy Year in Poker's Ambassador Market

GGPoker's roster has moved both ways in 2026, beginning with Fedor Holz ending his GGPoker deal in March to focus on family and an investment fund. A month later came Chilean footballer Arturo Vidal's GGPoker signing, the room's first ambassador from football.

Other rooms have been signing too. The table lists the main ambassador moves of 2026 by date of announcement.

GGPoker has not dated his community tournaments or promotions, or said what they will be worth. Until it does, his regular GGPoker streams on Twitch are the clearest view of the deal at work.

The next date to watch is 4 December, when the Global Poker Awards return at Baha Mar during WSOP Paradise, the first ceremony since his last nomination. Nominees for most categories have not yet been published.

Further ambassador signings will appear with the latest poker industry news.
