WPT Global Affiliate Program
WPT Partners does something almost no poker affiliate program does. It publishes the equation it uses to work out what you get paid, in plain text, on its own website.
That single fact is worth more than any headline percentage. A rate applied to an undisclosed revenue figure tells you nothing, and that is the position affiliates are in with most programs in this market.
The trade-off is that WPT publishes one agreement rather than six, and it carries no clause numbers. Sections are named rather than numbered, so everything below cites a heading you can find in the document rather than a reference you have to trust.
How revenue share, CPA and hybrid deals work in general is covered on our page on how poker affiliate deals are structured. Everything here is specific to WPT Partners.
If you are a player rather than an affiliate, our WPT Global review covers the player side.
The Formula WPT Partners Publishes
Under the heading Affiliates Deals, the terms set out how net gaming revenue is calculated. This is the number your percentage is applied to.
The published calculation
Five things come off before your share is worked out, and the order matters because the admin fee is calculated on gross revenue rather than on what is left after the other deductions.
WPT’s own support page states that directly: net gaming revenue is gross gaming revenue less the welcome bonus, VIP, CRM and other credits, and less an admin fee of 5% of GGR.
What each line covers
- Welcome Bonus, VIP system and Onsite or CRM promos. Everything the operator gives your players, taken off before your share is applied.
- The 5% admin fee. A flat charge on gross revenue, named in the terms and confirmed on the support page.
- Overlays. Defined as the gap between a tournament's guaranteed prize pool and what the entrants actually contributed.
- Casino and sportsbook. Handled separately, as wagering multiplied by the revenue share percentage rather than through the formula above.
What is not in the formula
Rake is stated to be calculated on a one to one ratio, and a user rake is defined as any rake collected from that user. What the terms do not explain is how the rake from a single pot is divided between the players in it.
Programs handle this differently, and the method decides whether a player who folds a lot is worth anything to you at all.
No commission rate is published either. The commissions page says the percentage is determined by the number of qualifying users on your trackers, and the terms say it is agreed at onboarding.
Directories list tier tables running from 12.5% or 15% up to 35%. None of those figures appears on WPT’s own site.
What It Costs to Get Your Commission
The formula decides what you earn. A separate set of clauses decides how much of it reaches you, and when.
| What Applies | Detail |
|---|---|
| Minimum before payment | $500. Below it, the balance rolls into the next calendar month |
| Currency | Paid in Euro, or another currency at WPT’s discretion, despite the minimum being stated in dollars |
| Security reserve | Up to 8% of amounts due can be withheld for up to six months |
| Chargebacks | 50% of chargeback and credit amounts deducted from your payment or the reserve |
| Card processing | 4% to 6% of all credit card deposits |
| First payment | Up to 30 business days for a new affiliate, or a new bank account on an existing one |
All six sit under the Payment Procedure section of the terms.
The 8% reserve is the one to plan around. It is not a fee, since the money is held rather than taken, but six months is long enough to matter to anyone buying traffic against expected commission.
When you actually get paid
Two of WPT’s own pages give different answers. The support page says commission can be requested on the 8th of each month for the prior cycle. Affiliate directories say payments go out by the 15th.
The terms themselves specify neither date. They set a monthly cycle, a two week window to accept your statement, and a reconciliation process of up to seven business days.
We would take the support page over the directories, since it is WPT’s own, but the terms do not confirm it and the two week acceptance window means the practical date depends on when you approve the statement.
Where the money goes
Commission is sent to Neteller, Skrill, PayPal, bank transfer, or directly into a WPT Global player account. Crypto is available but arranged individually rather than selected from a list, and the payment options page says to contact your affiliate manager to set it up.
Directories claim per method thresholds of $250 for bank transfers and $5 for everything else. Neither figure appears in the terms or on the payment options page.
The WPT Affiliate Inactivity Clause
Under Minimum Activity Qualification, the terms set out what happens if you stop producing. It is the clause most worth knowing before you sign, because it changes your rate rather than your balance.
Three months without directing any qualifying users to any site makes you an inactive affiliate. At that point WPT reserves the right to reduce your revenue share to 12.5%, and it stays there until management are satisfied you are actively promoting the brands again.
Inactivity is defined narrowly. It means zero new unique depositing users, so an account with existing players still generating rake can still be classed as inactive.
The longer clock
A separate provision covers accounts that go dark entirely. If you have not logged in and have not responded to contact attempts for 365 days, WPT reserves the right to close the affiliate account and the administrative player account attached to it.
Read together, the two run on different triggers. Three months of no new depositors cuts the rate. Twelve months of no login and no reply closes the account.
Why this one is worth asking about
The reduction is prospective rather than retrospective. It applies to what you earn from that point, not to commission you have already accrued, which is a meaningfully softer position than programs that forfeit accrued balances outright.
What the terms do not say is how the reduction is reversed. The wording gives WPT discretion over when management are satisfied, with no stated volume, timeframe or process for getting your original rate back.
That is worth settling in writing at onboarding, alongside the rate itself. A rate you can lose on a discretionary basis and regain on a discretionary basis is a different asset from one you cannot.
What WPT Global Affiliates May Not Offer
The terms carry a section headed No Rake-Backs, and it is drafted more broadly than the title suggests.
From the published terms
The phrase that does the work is any similar schemes. It reaches past fixed rakeback deals to anything returning a share of rake to players, however it is packaged.
Two consequences follow elsewhere in the same document. Rake-back activity is named in the definition of Fraud. And having paid users rakeback or other financial incentives is listed as grounds for immediate termination.
The section goes further still, saying you will not advertise or be engaged with any site that offers rake-backs.
Where approved promotions sit
The prohibition is on schemes an affiliate runs unilaterally. Promotions agreed with the operator in advance are a different arrangement, negotiated case by case rather than covered by the blanket wording.
That distinction is the practical answer to a question the clause raises but does not settle, and it is why races and freerolls exist on sites that also operate inside these terms. What matters is having the agreement in writing before anything runs.
The 2024 change that costs more than the clause
In August 2024 WPT Global stopped paying affiliate revenue share on no limit hold’em and short deck cash game play at stakes where its system classifies a player as highly skilled.
WPT president Alex Scott stated the change publicly at the time, adding that the company had always discouraged affiliates from offering rakeback and had warned it would cause problems.
The commercial effect is larger than the rakeback clause. Part of your existing traffic can stop earning without your deal changing, without notice to you, and without anything appearing on your statement to explain it. How the classification itself works is covered in our piece on how WPT Global identifies advantage play.
One more restriction worth knowing
Affiliates may not bid on WPT, WPTG, wptglobal.com, wptpoker or wptonline in search advertising, or on anything confusingly similar. That is standard across the market, but the named list is unusually specific.
What WPT Partners Does Not Publish
For a program that publishes its formula, the gaps are worth listing. Five things a WPT Global affiliate would reasonably want before applying are not stated anywhere we could find.
- How long a click stays yours. No cookie duration or attribution window appears in the terms, the commissions page or the support pages.
- Whether a player can be reassigned. No retag policy is published, so nothing states whether someone you introduced can later be claimed by another affiliate.
- What rate you will be offered. No tier table exists on WPT's own site. The percentage is agreed at onboarding.
- How pot rake is split. Rake is one to one and a user rake is any rake collected from that user, but the method for dividing a single pot is not given.
- Who you are actually contracting with. The affiliate terms name only the Company, without identifying the legal entity behind it.
The last one is the odd one. Everything above refers to WPT because that is how the agreement is written, but the document itself says only the Company, and never names the entity that word stands for.
The entity question
WPT Global’s player terms name Seventip N.V., a Curacao company, licensed by the Curacao Gaming Authority. Third party sources including affiliate directories name Everstronglink Limited in Costa Rica, under a Tobique licence.
Both cannot be the current position, and we cannot tell from outside which is. Kashxa Limited, a Cyprus company, is confirmed in the player terms as payment agent rather than operator. For comparison, the GGPartners agreements name their contracting entity in the opening paragraph of all six regional versions.
It matters more than it looks. The entity you contract with determines who owes you the money, which law governs the agreement and where you would have to pursue it. The affiliate terms do at least settle the last part: English law, with exclusive jurisdiction in the London courts.
Two things that are published and worth knowing
Sub affiliate commission is stated at 2% on the first tier. The second and third tiers say only to contact your affiliate manager, which is a published structure without published numbers.
Liability is capped at the lesser of $100,000 or the total paid to you in the previous twelve months. That is a real number, unusual to see stated, and worth knowing before you build a business on the relationship.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the WPT Global affiliate commission rate?
No rate is published on WPT’s own site. The commissions page says the percentage is determined by the number of qualifying users on your trackers, and the terms say it is agreed at onboarding. Affiliate directories list tier tables running from 12.5% or 15% up to 35%, but none of those figures appears on WPT Partners’ own pages. What is published is the calculation your percentage is applied to: gross gaming revenue less the welcome bonus, VIP system, onsite and CRM promotions, a 5% admin fee and overlays.
Does WPT Partners allow affiliates to offer rakeback?
No. The terms carry a section headed No Rake-Backs which prohibits any rakeback scheme, or any similar scheme returning a portion of users’ rake to them in any form. Rake-back activity is named in the definition of Fraud, and having paid users rakeback is listed as grounds for immediate termination. Promotions agreed with the operator in advance are a separate arrangement, negotiated case by case rather than covered by that wording.
What is the minimum payout for WPT Global affiliates?
$500. The terms state that payment is made monthly provided the amount payable is not less than $500, and anything below that is carried into the next calendar month. Payment is made in Euro or another currency at WPT’s discretion, despite the minimum being stated in dollars. A security reserve of up to 8% of amounts due may also be withheld for up to six months.
