Daniel Colman calls out Sean Perry for being a massive DFS scammer

There appears to be a new scammer in the poker community and his name is Sean Perry according to highstakes pro Dan Colman, who called Perry out for an alleged 7-figure DFS scam, with Sam Soverel also seemingly implicated…

Colman, perhaps most famous for his $15,306,668 scoop at the Big One for One Drop in 2014, took to Twitter to accuse Perry of very suspicious behaviour during highstakes head-to-head DFS (Daily Fantasy Sports) matches.

The alleged scam apparently hangs on three of the six DFS account picks, with Colman becoming concerned about the results when he and Sam Soverel controlled the accounts as opposed to when Perry did.

Colman explained: “After becoming alarmed at how differently these 3 random accounts set their line-ups depending on who owned them, I had Aaron Jones take a look at 9 days of line-ups and he ran an analysis based on their projections.”

He added that Jones, “… concluded that there was an incredibly high chance that these 3 accounts were controlled by (Perry), and that he would lay 10,000 to 1 odds on it.”

Colman tweeted: “…huge thank you to @aejonesleggo for lending me his expertise and all the time he spent going through the line-ups to help show that I was being cheated.”

A ‘second opinion’ from Ryan Daut confirmed the same suspicions, Colman claiming: He looked at the line-ups from just one night and felt that this was cheating almost on the level of Mike Postle.”

Colman also claims that Perry initially agreed to an arbitration, but later pulled out of the agreement.

Colman’s tweets led to a barrage of other complaints against the young Las Vegas pro (the son of well-known pro Ralph Perry, pictured below), who last month won more than $1.1million in the Aria’s famous highroller events.

Doug Polk joins the conversation

Doug Polk needed only one meeting to come to a conclusion about the younger Perry…

…while Dan Zack had his own story to share, Perry not coming off very well in the IQ bragging or betting department, and Daniel Negreanu finding it very funny indeed…

The tweets just kept coming in about the young player, and none of it was the least bit positive…

  • “Played some low stakes poker with the kid in South Florida several years back, can confirm he is insufferable and I’m not the least bit surprised that something like this has come to light…”
  • “I was just thinking the same, he had all the vibes of scammer. One of the most insufferable humans I have met at the tables and lectured everyone about how to gamble.”
  • “…saw him on Poker After Dark a month or so ago….He started session bragging about driving too fast and getting pulled over…I immediately disliked him…”

Meanwhile, Colman was also having to deal with some uncomfortable questions about whether his supposed DFS teammate, Sam Soverel, was in on the scam or not…

Daniel added: “I mean, I would never make bets like this with just Perry. I was just following Sam and he kept telling me we had a tiny edge day after day. So it really only works because Sam was a part of it. Not sure if they working together but seems likely.”

Sam Soverel is one of the winningest players overall in the Aria highroller tournaments, though his recent results have been less stellar by comparison.

Neither Perry nor Soverel have publicly commented on the scamming allegations and Colman was quick to let people know his own thoughts on being “outsmarted”…
