The 28-year-old was among a massive entry of 336 to Event #22: $25,000 High Roller 6-Handed, producing a prizepool of $7,896,000 and promising two 7-figure cashes up top.
Bursting the Bubble
Day two saw a delay as 45 late arrivals clogged up the seating plan and later the bubble burst in a monster clash of names and hands…
Sam Soverel: A♣ K♣
Brian Rast: A♦ A♥
Soverel’s 3-bet shove pre was snapped off…
Flop: 2♠ 2♣ 8♠
Turn: 2♥
Only quads deuces could save Soverel but the river bricked..
River: 10♣
…and the remaining 51 players had locked up the $50,299 min. cash.
Rast himself was among those who wouldn’t make it to the final table, some of the notables listed below:
- Brian Rast (22nd for $72,064)
- Kristen Foxen (13th for $87,971)
- Mustapha Kanit (8th for $142,581)
The final six was equally stacked, Zerjav joined by Moorman, Jared Bleznick and Landon Tice, with Aram Oganyan and Paulius Vaitiekunas rounding out the contenders.
Death by Quads
One of the first hands was also one of the biggest, vaulting Zerjav into the lead and Oganyan almost out of the event…
Blaz Zerjav: Q♥ Q♣
Aram Oganyan: A♠ K♦
Flop: Q♠ 8♥ Q♦
Turn: 2♠
River: 10♦
Just as Oganyan looked to be getting back in the mix with two double-ups, his A♣ 10♠ lost to Tice’s A♥ J♠ and it was 6th place and $257,201.
Short-stacked Vaitiekunas was next to fall, getting it in good against Leonard but watching two pair appear on the flop for the Englishman –5th spot and $513,577 very decent compensation.
World’s worst Angle?
Four-handed saw a questionable hand that brought some accusations of angle-shooting against the Slovenian, third to act after Moorman had opened the button and Bleznick had 3-bet with Q♦ J♦
Holding K♠ K♣ in the big blind, Zerjav announced 1.3million but was holding 3.3million in chips in his hand.
That meant he had to only call, and when he flopped a set against Bleznick’s second pair, he managed to get two further bets out of his opponent. The jury is still out on this one but it’s hard to see how the mistake helps Zerjav in theory. Have a look yourself below:

Landon Tice had gone quiet by now and when he finally picked up a hand, Bleznick found a better one…
Landon Tice: A♥ J♥
Jared Bleznick: A♦ K♦
Flop: 2♥ 7♦ 8♦
Turn: 7♣
River: 4♦
Kings cracked
That left three and for Bleznick it was as far as he would go after Moorman hung around with small, suited connectors and hit his straight on the turn, cracking the American card collector’s kings and setting a heads-up battle for the crown.

Blaz Zerjav and Chris Moorman are battling for the massive first-place prize of $1,734,717 and the bracelet in the $25K 6-Max! #WSOP2025 pic.twitter.com/BZpXubSdjR
Moorman’s chip lead was quickly pulled back and there followed an hour or so of play which saw his stack dwindle. Eventually, like Tice, he made his stand only to be coolered…
Chris Moorman: A♣ J♥
Blaz Zerjav: A♠ K♣
Flop: 8♣ 4♠ 3♠
Turn: 5♣
River: A♥
And with that, Blaz Zerjav had bagged his maiden WSOP title and a more-than-his-lifetime’s-earnings $1,734,717 payday. Zerjav promised celebrations, telling reporters: “We’re gonna have some good wine tonight. It was always a dream for me to win a bracelet, and now I can say a dream come true.”
