All talk of Phil Hellmuth and Daniel Negreanu chasing bracelets are on hold after Benny Glaser picked up his second WSOP win in just two days. Glaser now joins an elite pack with seven gold bracelets.

Glaser was among 1239 entries to Event #15: $1,500 Mixed: Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better. The English pro from Southampton on the south coast had just lifted Event #8: $1,500 Dealers Choice but back-to-back WSOP wins would be nothing new for Glaser, having done the same in 2016.
This time round the organisers would have to tack an extra day on to separate the contenders, by which time only three players were left chasing the dream.
Glaser was joined by Travis Pearson and David Shmuel, the latter also looking for a second bracelet in a week having bagged Event #4: $1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better.
For Shmuel, the tension wouldn’t last long, an early showdown with Pearson in Big O deciding the first of the podium spots…
David Shmuel: K♦ 8♦ 6♣ 3♥ 3♣
Travis Pearson: J♣ 10♦ 7♣ 5♠ 3♠
Flop: 2♠ 3♦ J♥
The limped pot saw Pearson lead the flop, Shmuel calling and Glaser getting out of the way.
Turn: 10♣
The turn saw action go check-raise-shove and call, Shmuel’s set looking good for a double-up. The river had other ideas…
River: 10♠
Heads-up was a tremendous affair, the lead changing hands several times and both players thinking they had actually lost at points in the battle only to realise chopped pots had saved the day.
There had to be a winner eventually, of course, and it appeared in a hand of Omaha Hi-Lo…
Here is the final hand between Travis Pearson aka @Degendaily1 and @BennyGlaser.

Glaser’s victory had just launched him into a share of 7th spot on the all-time WSOP bracelet winners list, alongside 7-bracelet legends Billy Baxter, Daniel Negreanu, Men Nguyen, Scott Seiver and John Hennigan.
“I’m feeling amazing,” 35-year-old Glaser told reporters after his historic win, adding: “This one feels more outrageously surreal. It still hasn’t sunk in.”
Describing heads-up as “really a tough battle” and praising Pearson’s play, Glaser declared that WSOP Player of the Year was now firmly in his sights.
“I was potentially going for Player of the Year anyways but I think this win makes it clear now that I’ll be going for it.”
